Sustainable Style Concierge
About Linda
I coach men, women, and young people to develop their personal image, enabling them to establish their own personal style or brand, to look and feel authentic and more confident.
I had a very successful career in teaching and the Education sector and trained at a time when the whole person and finding their potential was equally as important as teaching them academic skills. Although, the link may not seem immediately obvious becoming an image coach has helped me return to my teaching roots of developing self-confidence and potential.
We often want to blend in with other people or worry that we may appear vain that we are focusing on our appearance. However, our clothes are an extension of our personality and the colours and accessories we wear can be used as tools to energise, engage, or empathise with others.
It is my mission to help my clients do this by saving them money and caring for the planet. We have been encouraged for decades to buy fast, disposable fashion which has resulted in over production and pollution as millions of tons of water are consumed to grow crops to turn into textiles which then often end up in landfill or being incinerated. I help clients buy less and become more circular in their fashion habits by upcycling unwanted clothes or disposing of them ethically. I still offer a concierge service including helping you to shop, wardrobe declutters and bespoke styling advice, but this will always be in ways that have low carbon footprints, such as buying local, preloved or making and adapting clothes.

Our Mission Statement
Reloved Style is a style concierge service that is based on sustainability and the desire to help you reconnect with yourself, your creativity and how you lead your life.
Our aim is to provide you with sustainable style tips to lead a ‘slow’ life in a fast world.
Is it actually possible to be stylish and sustainable? In a word – yes.
Style does not have to cost the earth – you can look after the planet and your pocket by buying preloved or vintage, styling your clothes differently, by purchasing less but more wisely. It is entirely possible that we can reduce the carbon footprint created by the fast fashion industry, and still look and feel stylish.

Why We Need To Say NO To Fast Fashion
The fashion industry produces and sells 100 billion garments every year; it is the second biggest polluter after the oil industry because of the resources required to make the garments and the impact created on the environment caused by their disposal.
For decades, retailers have overproduced garments, at prices that have encouraged consumers to buy unnecessarily and then get rid of perfectly serviceable garments in the pursuit of the next new trend or season’s ‘must have’.
It is estimated that 39,000 tons of unsold and second-hand fast fashion was dumped in Chile’s Atacama Desert, and the equivalent of one bin lorry full of clothing is discarded into landfill or burned every second. Instead of planting food crops, farmers cultivate cotton for the textile industries; up to 18,000 gallons of water is needed to grow the cotton for just 1 pair of jeans.
Alarmingly, the average person now buys 60% more clothes than they did 15 years ago but wears them for half as long before disposing of them. The garment workers who made these clothes sadly see none of the profits from this over production, often skilled piece workers only earn a few pounds a day for their work.
The mission of Reloved Style is to help the average person who wears only 20% of their clothes 80% of the time, to rewear them more frequently, so they get value from their purchases and feel good wearing them. The Reloved workshops also aim to help some of the 59% of people in the UK who admit they are unable to sew confidently to improve their skill and to be more creative by upcycling, making from scratch and repurposing the fabrics from garments that are no longer wanted. In the same study, 16% said they would buy a new garment if the button fell off, but with a little skill they could save the cost of buying a brand-new item. By adopting slow fashion habits, I hope to help you swap, gift, sell or thrift those unwanted items so that we can reduce what goes into landfill.
Creating circular fashion, where the new garment has a well-used lifespan, perhaps with several people before it is turned into something new must be the way of the future.
